As a part of our 20th anniversary, we're taking a look back at some of our most popular cocktails over the years and featuring one a month. In March, we'll be featuring a recent favorite: Cherry Bounce. This tall drink includes our Cherry Whiskey as the base, a little cherry juice, and lemon juice and top it off with a Sparkling Riesling.
When using our Cherry Whiskey as the base, you get a subtle hint of cherry, but nothing too sweet or overwhelming, which provides a great base to build and add flavor to this cocktail. The cherry juice we use is the juice our Bourbon Cocktail Cherries soak in, which has a nice natural cherry flavor with a hint of Bourbon, complementing the Cherry Whiskey perfectly. The lemon juice adds a little acidity and brightness to the drink, and the Sparkling Riesling we use is local from Shady Lane Cellars, and isn't too sweet or too dry. The cocktail overall is well-balanced, light and refreshing, and unique for a whiskey cocktail to include a sparkling wine as a pairing.
2 oz Cherry Whiskey
1/2 oz Cherry Juice
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
Top with Sparkling Riesling
