If you saw our social post about our American Single Malt we teased the fact that we have some exciting changes coming down the pike with that product. The current iteration of the American Single Malt we have out is aged for up to 7.5 years in the barrel. By the end of this year, the version of the American Single Malt we'll be releasing will be aged for 12 years! This is an exciting endeavor for us since this will be the longest-aged product we've released in our history as a distillery.
The tasting notes for this whiskey include tobacco, anise, honey, cinnamon, and a strong oaky flavor from the extra time spent in the barrel. For those who like a good sipping single malt, this will be an excellent option.
This single malt we're very proud of not only for the quality, but it shows our heritage as a distillery in Michigan. We are Michigan's first grain-to-bottle craft distillery and we've been distilling for almost 20 years since we opened in 2005. We've had a long journey, and the path to success as a distillery in Michigan looks a little different than it did when we first started. Our brand started just with vodkas to get our name out there and test the waters as a distillery, but slowly we were able to make the investment to put away barrels of whiskey. 12 years ago we decided to put up one of our first malt whiskey barrels, and we're getting very close to releasing this product.
We expect the 12-Year American Single Malt to be on the shelves in our tasting room by the end of this year. This date is all determined by the sales of our current American Single Malt, so if you're eager to get 12 year faster we suggest buying a bottle of the current American Single Malt! This way you can also compare tasting notes from the 7.5-year-aged to the 12-year-aged. For updates on the 12-year follow our social channels on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok so you know when this product will be released!
